I know the 1290 SAS is only 485 pounds wet and the K1600 is 760 pounds wet, but the K1600 is also more comfortable, but it costs nearly $31K new, or $20K for a 2017 model, and the maintenance on any BMW is expensive. 1290 problems? : r/KTM. I'm doing a bit of research into my next bike. Currently have a VFR1200F but would like something a bit lighter and with more tech (cornering ABS definitely). Can someone give me an overview of what to look out for on these/the major issues? My main concern is reliability and how it does with year round riding re corrosion.
