As of gold weapons that have hundreds of durability and 6 repairs, although these weapons are rare you shouldn't worry about having your weapons losing durability/repairs and becoming useless. I've made a guide about how to refurbish weapons and legitimately restore its repairs/durability easily, feel free to check it out. Melee - mostly Superior, non-Legendary ones, use bleed, fire, and electric weapons; all with Hazardous + Unstable + the respective mod element's perk (e.g., Infectious perk for Puncturator mod) BUT never Tear 'N Sear - that thing damages you more than the zeds.
